چکیده

In this paper, we introduce background cut, a high quality and realtime foreground layer extraction algorithm. From a single video sequence with a moving foreground object and stationary background, our algorithm combines background subtraction, color and contrast cues to extract a foreground layer accurately and efficiently. The key idea in background cut is background contrast attenuation, which adaptively attenuates the contrasts in the background while preserving the contrasts across foreground/background boundaries. Our algorithm builds upon a key observation that the contrast (or more precisely, color image gradient) in the background is dissimilar to the contrast across foreground/background boundaries in most cases. Using background cut, the layer extraction errors caused by background clutter can be substantially reduced. Moreover, we present an adaptive mixture model of global and per-pixel background colors to improve the robustness of our system under various background changes. Experimental results of high quality composite video demonstrate the effectiveness of our background cut algorithm.

Relationship between the optimum cut off frequency for Butterworth filter and lung-heart ratio in 99mTc myocardial SPECT

Background: We investigated whether the lungheart ratio parameter (LHR) can be used to identify the optimum cut off frequency for Butterworth filter in 99mTc myocardial SPECT imaging. Materials and Methods: This study involved a cardiac phantom system consisting of cardiac insert in which 1.10 cm cold defect was inserted into its myocardium wall and filled with 4.0 μCi/ml (0.148 MBq/ml...

Extraction of Foreground in images with Similar Background using Grab Cut in HSV Color Space

Interactive image segmentation of images has great practical importance. Grab cut is an approach based on optimization by graph cut is implemented by Rother et. al. Grab cut is faster technique and it only requires a rough initial trimap by user interaction. But Grab Cut fails for the images having same foreground and background color Intensity Here we proposed a variation of Grab cut by applyi...

Interactive Organ Segmentation Using Graph Cuts

An N-dimensional image is divided into “object” and “background” segments using a graph cut approach. A graph is formed by connecting all pairs of neighboring image pixels (voxels) by weighted edges. Certain pixels (voxels) have to be a priori identified as object or background seeds providing necessary clues about the image content. Our objective is to find the cheapest way to cut the edges in...

A comparative performance of gray level image thresholding using normalized graph cut based standard S membership function

In this research paper, we use a normalized graph cut measure as a thresholding principle to separate an object from the background based on the standard S membership function. The implementation of the proposed algorithm known as fuzzy normalized graph cut method. This proposed algorithm compared with the fuzzy entropy method [25], Kittler [11], Rosin [21], Sauvola [23] and Wolf [33] method. M...
